I have been on a complete rollercoaster emotional day. As i posted before i went for tests recently. I had an xray of knees which is ok, i knew it would be. I need an mri. My doc sent me for blood tests to check things and they are mostly ok, will get full results when i go to the doctor. I asked for a referral to the stomach doc because of me being bloated all the time and he sent referral to the surgeon i had before and i got a letter for the test being the day before our trip.
Now i posted about TMI last time and that i went to the walk in for abnormal bleeding & pain and i had a bladder infection. He reluctantly gave me a paper for a ultrasound because i told him i know my body and what it goes through. He tried to tell me that i must not be taking my b/c pills all the time and that can cause the bleeding. I said "nope, i take them all the time and actually have had 2 cyst surgeries back to back in 2005". That shut him up fast.
I never looked up cysts before but i did today, 6cm doesn't sound so huge but it is in reality.
Today i got a phone call at work about my tests from my doctors nurse. I had left a message for her on tuesday and he wasn't in on wednesday. She said he had went over the results and wanted to see me at the walk in clinic May 2nd (he gets extremely booked up months in advance). I told her i have an appt May 6th and she said i could see him on the 2nd and cancel my appt on the 6th.
Of course that immediately got me curious. She then told me the other results and said the words i been dreading. I knew if i got a call this week it wouldnt be good news. Sure enough, she said you have a cyst and he wants to see you. Now cysts are normal. Women have them every month without any problems MOST of the time. Now for my history.
The first one i found out by accident. I thought i was pregnant as my period was late and i am regular. I went to the walk in (always a diff doc, they rotate) and he said i wasn't but i didn't really believe him. My ex and i were moving back here (i moved away for a couple months when i couldn't handle my gram anymore, but just 45 mins away). We had a uhaul rented and my dad came to the city to move us. I was in so much pain i couldn't do anything. I was now bleeding so i thought i was having a miscarriage. I went to the walk in here and got some meds.
After about 2 or 3 more days i couldn't take it anymore and went to the walk in here, he sent me for an ultrasound and gave me some meds. That I couldn't barely walk at that point. The meds stopped the bleeding but not the pain. My dad took me. The doc sent me to the clinic to the doc whom i saw a few days before at the walk in for a pelvic exam and said he was admitting me to the hospital because he could feel my fallopian tubes. Idk what he said at the time exactly but it was a condition. Pelvic something or rather. I went home, told my bf to pack me a bag. Got some cigs (yes i smoked) and went over to the hospital.
They gave me meds and what not through iv but the pain was still heavy. I was on my way out for a smoke on my 2nd day and saw my doc as he was getting ready for his supper break. He had ran out for subway (go doc!!). We stopped to talk for a second and said he had my ultrasound results and was going to send the surgeon in to see me.
I ended up having emergency surgery the next day and they did a pregnancy test and found out i was pregnant but it did not show up in the ultrasound so they knew it was ectopic. I didn't have time to process this news as i was already on the operating table. I came out of that surgery ok but i had to have ultrasounds every 3 months ordered by MB health until i had 4 clean ones. The 2nd ultrasound i got the same type of phone call as today. Doc wants to see you asap.
It came back that i needed surgery again. He immediately sent me over to the surgeon and they scheduled me for a week later. That one they tried laparoscopy and i was set up for day surgery but because of the scar tissue of my 2 previous surgeries they couldn't so they went in through the pelvic area like the 1st time. They burnt my bowel by accident and i was really sick. I needed a nose tube to drain my stomach and could not eat or drink anything They never gave me supplements either so i just starved.
I tried getting out after about 5 days. Went home and was the sickest i ever been, in my life. I was pretty sick with my hernia and ulcers but that paled in comparison. i sent my bf at the time to get my gram cause we had no phone and she drove me back to the hospital where i spent another 5 days. That was in 2005 and the nurse told me if i was older i would have had to have a hysterectomy because having 2 surgeries like that is rare.
So now i have another major cyst (i know he would not want to see me if it would go away on its own). The only thing they could do is surgery and i am afraid he is going to tell me i have to have a hysterectomy. I cried all afternoon. Pray for me guys. 2 weeks is a long time away.
OH wow!! I'm so sorry to hear about this! I know what kind of pain you're talking about.. I have tons of cysts on my ovaries and they do hurt like a son of a bitch!!
ReplyDeleteI hope they don't say you must have a hysterectomy. It's horrible when you are no longer in charge of your body and your choices are taken from you. (speaking from experience). If you need anything, you know I'm always here. :)
I am praying for you, I know how scary and painful this is.
ReplyDeleteI think we have discussed this before Jen (your issues) if i recall correctly.
ReplyDeleteEveryone says to me well at least you have one healthy kid and if thats gods plan then......
Ya ok, may be true but not what i want to hear right now lol.
Thanks Lily i appreciate it, it is amazing how many women have to go through all this, just to have babies.
Oh my gosh how scary! Keeping you in my thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for being anxious. The unknown and waiting is the worst. Will lift you up in prayer, gal. mum
