New post soon i promise, this weekend turned out alot busier than i thought it would be and i never got on the computer much, i didn't even get to read blogs *gasp*.
Happy valentine's day everyone :) hope you got spoiled, or if you are single treat yourself!!! I am specific with any occasion, i got my fav chocolates, a book (which i bought last week cause he told me he never got it, so i gotta exchange it) and a spa pedicure (never had a normal pedicure before so this will be awesome) at a local salon. He also came home last night from work with a rose. I had heart shape brownies and our fav alcohol in our wine glasses (we both dislike wine, me i hate it, hate it, hate it, don't matter the kind) and we had a romantic night with candlelight watching my fav show and chatting and eatting, was awesome and well worth it being tired this morning.
Tonight we are also going to try the new restaurant in town for supper, will be awesome not having to cook, so that when we get home we can relax before an early bed.
Next post will be about what a social is, probably wednesday since he is off tomorrow too and i don't want to be on too long if he is home..
Hey, sweet. Your V day sounded nice. Our was pretty uneventful. Didn't know what to do special, so we had fried chicken and mashed potatos and the kids and hubby thought it was great. Cute funny cards. It was all good. Take care. mum
ReplyDeleteIt was perfect :). We have been together for 5 valentine's days and each vday and each anniversary we do something different to keep it special. Those are the days that we make sure it is about us. Usually we go away for our anniversary. My son gets to come on our honeymoon (disney) but our first married anniversary will be like a honeymoon in dominican republic :)
ReplyDeleteCouples need to have alone special time too, as well as family time, saturday we did valentines with kiddo.
Are you from the south mum? I keep hearing everyone talk about fried chicken, i only have had kfc, not home cooked friend chicken!
I must confess, Sweet, I got the fried chicken from the local grocery store! We have KFC and Popeye's here in Pennsylvania, but the Giant Food Store has awesome fried chicken. I never make fried chicken at home - I'll broil, bake, grill, but making good fried chicken is a skill I don't possess! I think it has as much to do with the coating as it does with how hot the grease is. I'm not from the south (well, I AM south of you!) but we do like some good fried chicken every now and then. mum
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a popeye's, i have always wanted to try that, if we ever go on a cross country adventure when we get older i am sooooo gonna try out the different food places.
ReplyDeleteI don't think i would ever attempt fried chicken myself. It is amazing how different the foods are and yet our cultures are very much the same. I have a friend that married someone from the usa and brought them to canada, we went out for supper and she would not try poutine (fries, cheese and gravy) because to her gravy was white and went with biscuits so she thought our food was gross lol.
Did you make the mashed potatoes from scratch? If not then that is alright cause you didn't have to cook! I love those nights lol.
No, I didn't make them from scratch. You are totally outing me, Sweet! My mom told me about these frozen ones made by Bob Evans (another restaurant in the US) that you can buy at the store. They had sour cream and chives and you just had to microwave them. So creamy and good. That was my Valentines treat to myself....no cooking. And we used the good china (paper plates!) so no dishes! haha mum
ReplyDeleteLOL sorry hun, no cooking and dishes are awesome! i don't get that unless we go out or order pizza, everything i make is from scratch, won't eat it otherwise, i am very very picky, spent most of my life sick and watching what i ate so stems from that.
ReplyDeleteI love Valentines day, I knwo some poeopel can't stand it, but I just love all of the cards and flwoers and hearts everywhere hahaha
ReplyDeleteI Love celebrating love too, i told my fiance that i don't look at is as a commercial holiday because we don't buy the commercial stuff (ie. 50$ roses that are normally 30$) etc. I love all holidays.
