My sister pt 2 - the past

I have a migraine kicking in so bare with me here. This clicky is where i left off my story. Wow that was over a year ago, man how time flies.

OK, so when i left off i left off at my sister moving to bc. She met a guy out there (i refuse to call him a man) & decided she was going to get married. I don't know why, he had mental health issues, was lazy, did not treat her well, but she was very insecure.

They planned a June wedding over a year away. OK fine, her choice. She then decided to move it up to this June (in 2003 or 4) which at the time was only 2 weeks away. She made the choice while my mom was down visiting us, she was going to be down for a bit longer than drive back. We could have easily made the trip back with her to attend the wedding but......... My sis decided for us we couldn't afford it & did NOT even invite us, her own brother & sister????

WTF is up with that? After everything i had done for her, all the money & hours i spent on her i was devastated. I could not believe the child i cared for could do such a thing to me. It's one thing if we could not go but she didn't even give us a chance. She also excluded my mom from the planning, his family planned it all, then she was pissed when my mom left after supper.......... well what do you expect? You basically told your family they mean shit to you & you expect everything to be ok?  A mother dreams about helping her daughter with her wedding, well most mothers anyways. My father decides to spend $1000 to fly there spur of the moment & walk her down the aisle, but she never invited him either, he just showed up.

I took if very personal, i was extremely upset. I mean when you have a close family who shuns them like that? Especially when they have bent over backwards for you their entire life.

I severed ties with her, i was so hurt i wanted nothing to do with her at that point. I kept it up for 2 years, refused to acknowledge her. My mom kept trying to get me to talk to her but she didn't understand. My sister was hurt, but i did not care after she hurt me so bad.

Then my great grandma died, i decided it had to be me to tell her. My aunts paid for her plane ticket to come home. They came home, everything was going ok but then my son & her husband were play fighting & her husband (who had braces) got hurt quite bad. He wanted me to pay for him to get his mouth fixed (he got cut & had to have something done) but i told him unfortunately that because it was his own fault & he was play fighting with a rambunctious child & it was an accident that in no way shape or form was i paying when he made the choice in the first place. In all the hoopla my son accidentally head butted him, he was going for his chest but the way her husband moved he got the chin instead. He was pretty pissed off, but i am not paying for someone who got hurt when he was the one wanting to play, he knew the consequences, just did not expect there to be any.

That trip ended on a sour note, but today i would still do it the same way. Sorry but i won't be taken for a ride.

They went back to bc & all was well until my mom had her first surgery. My sister & her (then) husband  decided to screw (my then) bf over...............

  4. Hahahh you're getting as bad as I am with the cliffhangers! lol

Oh I'm with you on not paying for his dental work. He was the dumbass playing around.. accidents happen. It wasn't like your son did it on purpose. He should have thought about that prior.

Did your sister know yet that she herself had mental issues during all of this? Or was it later that she found out?

  5. Do you have a good memory jen? I don't remember mentioning my sister's mental health issues. Yes she knew at this time she had them, but not to the extent that she does. That diagnosis came after she was married, i can tell more about that after i do the next post.

The post would be too long if i did not leave you hanging, plus the 2 posts do not even go together. Maybe i will write it up tomorrow if i can & leave it to post friday morning so that it is settled before the weekend.
