Minor setback

So..... I'm still in hospital 21 days later. Right now the end is not in sight.

I've had to go back to NPO (nothing orally) till we get this infection and stomach illness out of the way.

The problem with being npo is that i have to eat full meals before i can leave. The portions will be small but i have to eat able to tolerate regular food.

I can't go to my home hospital until I'm eating so that will be middle of the week at least. The surgery team is here so this is where I need to be in case something happens.

I miss my dog. I would love to have daily visitors which I would get at home. Patience is hard for me right now. I have no appetite but i WANT to eat. I can't even drink water.

The silver lining of it all is this seems to be a bigger problem than I thought.  I have not had a distended belly since surgery I've been bloated for 3-4 years 24/7. My stomach is soft now.

I also lost 20 pounds. I felt like I lost weight so checked thursday and sure enough. I'm so close to being under 100 kg. I'm now sitting at 230 so 30 pounds overall. Yay!

I also got to switch rooms yesterday which is awesome. I was in a 4 person room. 3 ppl with tvs who had headphones but refused to use them. One gy blasted his and had to be told to turn it down time and time again. Two of them had tvs and lights on till 1 am two nights in a row. 3rd night nurse told then to go to bed 1030 and one put his tv on 3am and woke me up! Then the other guy would have his tv and light on at 6:30 am. That left 5 hrs with no noise. He also only knows how to speak at full volume because he is hard of hearing and won't get a hearing aide.

As sick as i am i needed the rest so yesterday they moved me rooms without hesitation. They had planned on it before I asked. Now there is only one other person and they r quiet. The funny thing is the kid who had his tv blaring all the time asked to switch rooms cause he said it was too loud, how ironic.  They turned him down. I guess he wanted to be the only one with a tv.

I am feeling the best I've felt all week but that doesn't mean I'm on the mend yet. I don't want to jinx it and I don't want to rush it either

    1. yes, the hospital had co-ed rooms for all rooms. They are completely full at all times (never ever an empty bed) so as soon as someone is discharged a new person moves in. A person's Sex doesn't matter. There are curtains around each bed. They have 800 beds. It is a huge hospital

The first week i was at the woman's hospital but that is just for female issues and/or pregnancy/births.
