Flooding

Oh man it is getting crazy outside, we are on "alert" but not evac yet. We are having the worst flood ever (although it was high this came out of no where to me) and they have to cut 100ft of hwy and do a controlled flood of 150 homes and land to save 700 homes and that is just in my immediate area. People are getting evac'd left right and center, some with no warning because the water has no where to go and it is supposed to rain for 5 days still. The cut is 3 miles east of me and they think it will just go east but we are on alert just in case. They have called in the military just to help with the sand bagging and they anticipate it will be 2 weeks before water even starts to do it's downward spiral after cresting. I know this isn't nearly as bad as the tornado's in Alabama were but it is still pretty scary. The water is only a few feet below the bridges and diversion just can't handle the amount of water coming in.
